Irish Wedding

Announcing the Union of:

June, 2004

Doolin, County Clare - West Ireland

Welcome to Emily and Ballard's wedding website. We appreciate you considering joining us for this joyous occasion. We know it is difficult financially and schedulewise, but all of you who can't will be remebered, and those of you that can make it get ready for an exciting weekend.

Update #1 (February)
Hello Friends and Family:

We are so excited that so many of you are planning on spending this special day with us and we want to do our best to answer all of your questions, so we decided to start sending out email updates (and postal mail for those of you who aren't strapped to your computers). Also, check our web page for updates at:

wedding.ballardsmith.com

If, for whatever reason, you have decided not to come, or to come with an extra guest, or you just aren't sure whether or not you can make it, please do keep us updated by responding to this email or giving us a call. We want to make sure we have space, food, and Guinness for everyone in attendance!

Right now the biggest concern you should have is a valid passport! If you don't have a current passport, forms are available from your local post office. For details see,

http://travel.state.gov/passport_services.html

Be warned that it may take as much as 2 months to get a new passport and they are not inexpensive (about $85) Just as a side note - Emily has been having a reoccurring dream that she forgets her passport when she is supposed to leave for the wedding and so she hides in the ladies room at the airport out of embarrassment. Don't let this happen to you!

Another important note: we think we are going to be able to squeeze almost everyone into Ballinalacken Manor House (see website for details). If you are not sure if you are staying with us, contact us to double check. Almost everyone will not need other arrangements for the evenings of June 20th, 21st, and 22nd. We will contact you soon with more info on the manor house (price, etc).

We will send out periodic updates like this one about once per month. Future updates will include:

1) Logistics: Airfare, car rental, and directions.
2) Packing list: What to bring and what to avoid (Gortex helps in this rainy country).
3) Translating Irish to English: Watch out, "salad" may mean COLE SLAW.
4) A little about Irish culture: Don't expect anything done fast, but it will be friendly

If you have specific issues you would like to see discussed, please let us know.

Thank you for deciding to spend your time with us. See you in Ireland!

Emily and Ballard
